True Colors... And He's Still Being PAID!!!

Michael Brown quit as Federal Emergency Management chief, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina - he should have been FIRED!!!
There's something deeply and morally wrong with this picture. In a recent story on CNN.com, e-mails that Brown made during Katrina have been made public. Brown's lack of leadership and lack of a moral compass have been exposed through his e-mails. In one e-mail he asks 'Can I quit now?' - Don't believe it? Here's the article: 'Can I quit now?' FEMA chief wrote as Katrina raged

I don't know what is worst:

1. Brown's lack of leadership
2. Brown's e-mails
3. President Bush's lack of Leadership (Why he didn't react faster to Katrina? Why he didn't fire Brown?)
- or -
4. That Brown is still being paid by the American people!!!

To me, it all equals a morally deficient administration.

Take action NOW - write your Senator, and Congress Person! Let them know that it is not OK for us to be paying a person who has failed miserably at their job.

I don't know about Washington D.C., but here in Minnesota if you fail at your job, you get FIRED!!!

I blogged here in September (one week after FEMA hit and bodies were still be recovered) that I happen upon a party (yes a party!) for FEMA in WA,DC. This whole saga is criminal. Brown with Bush should be in jail for the damage and lives lost from their inability to respond and lack of action afterwards.

Minnesota has historically prided itself on a large voter turnout. Typically we have been among the top few states in the nation with a large voter turnout. Currently I'm traveling down Route 66 with the odd side trip here and there...I'm blogging about my Mother Road adventure at The Grateful Muses blog but side trips and odd things that don't quite fit the travel log will get posted up here...like this one about Twinkies... Old Twinkies advertisement tin As Route 66 is America's Main Street, so are Twinkies America's snack cake. And guess what? Twinkies were invented in Illinois... Schiller Park in the 1930's. The inventor James Dewar realized that several machines used to make cream filled strawberry shortcake sat idle when the berries weren't in season. That's when he conceived a snack cake filled with a banana cream filling. He came up with the name Twinkies when he saw a billboard in St. Louis for 'Twinkle Toe Shoes....giving birth to 'Twinkies'.
