It's early in the campaign season and already 'Team Coleman' is showing signs of stress. At Minneosta Campaign Report Joe Bodell posts up a recent response from the Coleman camp that says "left-wing, liberal, Al Franken bloggers are as goofy...". Hmm...is everything bad that happens to Coleman a result of bloggers ala Al Franken? And what would goofy say to their reference? If Norm gets a tooth ache is that because of us? And if Norm's wife was 'green screened' because they don't spend time together in the kitchen (or anywhere else from what I hear!) is that the fault of bloggers. I think not. Given this over-the-top characterization from Team Coleman...well I quote another writer by saying "Methinks the lady doth protest too much".

When I read Kersten's editoral on teaching sex education in Ruskin middle school...well it left me speechless. Really I didn't know even where to begin it contained so many false assumptions and conclusions. Her arguement was that the school's sex education program was scientifically correct, and therefore too harmful to those that want to pull their shirts over their heads pretend we live in the 1800's. (This is the part where I say I'm exaggerating... but I'm not!) Fortunately Across the Great Divide wasn't left stunned and speechless. Go ahead take a peek (it won't grow hair on your palms...er at least it hasn't so far!)

Would a fiscal conservative allow billions of American tax money to go missing or be mismanaged? The answer is no but Congressman John Kline has. While Kline has been in office we've seen one scandal after another regarding the Iraq war. Mr. 'stay the course' Kline continues with his unwavering support of Bush's failed policies and questionable dealings while ignoring rampant abuse. Add to this picture of wanton waste of American resources and money in Iraq is Rep. John Kline's refusal to support projects that would improve the lives of Minnesotans. Under Kline's watch we've seen billions spent on this war with little or no accountability and massive abuses. Maybe it's time to look at someone more aligned with our Minnesota values. Wow, by any mother including myself... It's funny how much value the 'far right' puts on having fetuses saved but then completely loses it when it comes to providing for their needs and safety once they are children. John McCain is no different by wanting to commit our children to their war.

"Oil Industry Cheers McCain's Energy Policies". 'Enuff said ...really we can't afford 'more of the same' from another Bush's boy. Despite record profits and executive pay in the oil industry, McCain isn't willing to cut back on Big Oil’s windfall profits and tax breaks. McCain already has proposed giving $3.8 billion more in tax breaks to Big Oil and has voted to protect their profits. Shouldn't McCain be voting for what we want? Think about it... By contrast here's the change... "This campaign is about building a different kind of politics. We don't take money from Washington lobbyists or special-interest political action committees. Instead, we have a base of more than 1.5 million individual donors who ensure that this campaign answers to no one but the people."

Ya right...draft someone who couldn't muster enough support to stay in the race til the endorsement...Oh sure, he could self fund, but it's hard to show you have support without...supporters! Which leads us to speculate on the Draft Ciresi website ...Inquirering minds want to know...sore DFL losers? GOPers trying to peal away support from Franken? or the insane? (personally I think is door number 3!) From day one the republican bloggers have attacked Franken...daily sometimes hourly. They know they are in trouble with Coleman and they also know Franken can take him down...even if he has to overcoming the pitiful draft Ciresi website...too lame.

Well I've heard just about every reason someone might vote republican...but the video provided more reasons... Spread the word!

In recent months I've been juggling work, friends, politics and a terminally ill family member. It's been stressful most the time and sad all of the time. But it brought home our need for elected officials that will fight for the basic needs of every Minnesotan. Our economic security shouldn't be jeoparized when a family member is ill. The health of families is the health of the community and ultimately the state and country. Healthcare is a necessity, education is a necessity, and transportion is a necessity. Without these basic needs met, no-one has security. Steve Sarvi gets this. As the endorsed second congressional district candidate he'll fight for our basic rights. Building toward that end - in 2007 the presidential candidates raised a combined half a billion dollars! Tell me again about how they are fiscal conservatives? Yeah right, they are but the system isn’t . We’ve demanded campaign finance reform , isn’t it time our leaders provide it? Merely raising the topic doesn’t fix it.
