Another Sad Voter Story

So I’ll have my dog dip his tail in ink and wag it over the ballot…then I’ll instruct my cat on what choices I want her to marked with the wet ink…and then finally I’ll let the hamster's tiny tongue seal the envelop and mail it for me …then I’ll contact the Norm Coleman campaign to see if my story is outrageous enough for them to present to the court on the premise that ‘every vote should count’ regardless for the laws and rules!

A Spork in the Drawer nailed it with:
Hell, even Coleman knows he's finished. Why else would he have taken a job as a lobbyist? But Norm, at the behest of the RNC, is going to waste Minnesota's, the Senate's, and the Nation's time and money out of sheer pique. The Republican Party: We put temper tantrums first!

Kline Continues To Cling To Idealogy Over Real Solutions

For years we've watch as Congressman John Kline rubber stamped budget after budget that drove American to where we are today...bankrupt and on the brink of despair. The cost of the Iraqi war and the cost overruns from private war profiteers were all done with Kline's approval and on his watch and at the expense of our tax dollars...so where does he get off calling Obama's stimulus package....

"...a trillion-dollar borrow-and-spend bill [that] will not bring us back to prosperity. ... Rather than jump-starting the economy, this bill saddles our children and grandchildren with more debt and bigger government."

His comments are so sad....considering that during Kline's time in office he has driven the national debt to an all time high...KLINE HAS SADDLED OUT CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WITH TRILLIONS IN DEBT! And guess what? The government has grown to an ALL TIME HIGH under the Bush Administration with Kline's help! So instead of the Kline pot calling the kettle black, how about some real change?

At a time in history when Americans could use real leadership and cooperation Kline continues to cling to his rank and vicious partisanship. Kline's no vote seems to support Rush Limbaugh's rant of wanting American to fail so that Obama fails. Can't say I'm surprised by Kline's failure to take a real leadership roll...but his excessive partisanship and inability to work for the best interest of Americans coupled with his adherence to out-of-touch policies will make the voters he represents the biggest losers.

Happy 80th B-Day

"Happy Birthday" by Stevie Wonder
You know it doesn't make much sense
There ought to be a law against
Anyone who takes offense
At a day in your celebration
Cause we all know in our minds
That there ought to be a time
That we can set aside
To show just how much we love you
And I'm sure you would agree
It couldn't fit more perfectly
Than to have a world party on the day you came to be

Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday

I just never understood..
How a man who died for good
Could not have a day that would
Be set asidef or his recognition
Because it should never be
Just because some cannot see

The dream as clear as he
that they should make it become an illusion
And we all know everything
That he stood for time will bring
For in peace our hearts will sing
Thanks to Martin Luther King

Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday

Why has there never been a holiday
Where peace is celebrated/all throughout the world
The time is overdue
For people like me and you
Who know the way to truth

Is love and unity to all God's children
It should never be a great event
And the whole day should be spent
In full remembrance
Of those who lived and died for the oneness of all people

So let us all begin
We know that love can win
Let it out don't hold it in
Sing it loud as you can
Happy birthday Happy birthday Happy birthday Ooh yeah Happy birthday

We know the key to unify all people
Is in the dream that you had so long ago
That lives in all of the hearts of people
That believe in unityWe'll make the dream become a reality
I know we will
Because our hearts tell us so

Every one dreams....what are your dreams? Work on making them come true this year!

Nothing Is For Free

There will be change…but the question is...how much we’ll have to pay for it…I’m sorry but if this was so historic then maybe my kids should be able to see it…for free. But then again, maybe the lesson here is there’s a cost to everything…even Pete Seeger’s “This land is your land”

“…the Presidential Inauguration Committee had sold exclusive rights to broadcast this extraordinarily, historically, inclusive "We Are One" concert at Lincoln Memorial to HBO. So those of us who hadn't had the foresight -- or the financial wherewithal -- to subscribe to HBO (or to one of the cable or satellite dish companies that had worked out an agreement with HBO) would not be able to see or hear it.”

Can’t tell you the number of times over my life time I’ve sung this song…but this one time brought a tear to my eye….for all that’s gone before and yet to be…

How Does Norm Do It?

Hmmm, another high power big bucks attorney for Norm Coleman. The attorney just happens to represent millionaire Nasser. The same Nasser Kazeminy that is alledged to have routed $75,000 to Coleman's wife, Laurie and is part of an FBI probe. Nasser is also a top donar to Norm's campaign. Norm also has an attorney for that investigation, as does his wife.

How does he afford all of them? Especially now that he isn't earning senator's pay....hmmm.

Word Up

As long as the GOP sees Al Franken as the top public enemy and not….oh idk...
inadequate health care for millions of Americans, under funded states, cities, and county governments, the economy with record deficit, falling down infrastructures, transits break downs, polluntion and global warming (just to name a few!)

Then there is no hope of us working together to fix what’s broken. There’s lots of real enemies out there but calling a Minnesota’s duly elected senator as top public enemy is arrogant and wrong. It's particulary shameful given the majority of Minnesota voters have spoken.

Message to Ron Carey, Steven Schier and Joe Reypa: You’re not helping Americans by trash talking and flinging outrageous claims without the facts. Maybe it’s the reason the GOP has lost so much support and so many races nationwide. Folks have had enough of minority opinions that only further the agenda of a few.

Small minded partisan behavior from so-called leaders won't lead to resolution of the major problems facing our country. Might I suggest you engage in real conversion that builds consensus in resolving our more immediate problems rather than continue to be empty talking heads.

My Obama Sense Is Tingling

My obama sense is tingling…

Amazing Spider-Man No. 573

Deanster Vell

Howard Dean deserves better. Hell we should get down on our knees for all he’s done to turn Demos around and put them into office. I could go on & on about this but why when Theygaveusarepublic says it oh so perfect:

Hey! National Dems! You won two cycles because his ideas were the right ones, you fucking ingrates. And I'll tell you now...if you morons revert back to acting like we need to kiss your ring, we'll tell you to get bent and win elections all by yourselves. Fuck me over again, assholes, and see first hand that the easiest thing in the world for me to do is...nothing.

And by the way...every time they ask me for money, they will get a return envelope with no donation, but a note saying "No Fifty State Strategy? No fifty dollar donation! I sent my red-state donation to DFA instead, where it will support candidates who support me."

This'nThat Thursday

So much for working together…Crybabies cry…always have, always will.

And so it begins…when those who live for money have none…they have nothing. I never understood how the stock market collapse in the 20’s could have spurred suicides. Still don’t. Just let folks know you couldn’t turn it around, that things will know be different but there’s always tomorrow…er…or should be and maybe it will be better because the greed and selfishness has been uncovered.

Bite this!

To have so much power and lack common everyday decency…We all know bush lies and cheats but now we know he’s also a thin-skinned rudy sleezy punk that if my mother were alive, would have taken him out to the wood shed for this one…

I see that Obama has nominated Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia for DNC Chair…another slap in the face of women and gays…thank you Mr. Obama can I have another?

A whole new meaning to Minnesota hardy…

Will Coleman Serve Minnesota's Best Interests or Stall?

It's time for Coleman to serve the people of Minnesota and concede the senate race. Yes it was close but it's now over. There is a winner by the slimest of margins out of millions of votes (225 for Franken). Norm's campaing must know that any chance of making up the difference between the two is a lost cause. He now can do the right thing and accept the outcome or...he can contest, drawing out the process, but still not win. It's time to do what's in the best interests of Minnesota.

The days of Coleman serving in the senate has ended.
“In Minnesota, Franken has won election. [Norm] Coleman is going to contest that, but Coleman will never, ever serve in the Senate. He’s lost the election. He can stall things, but he’ll never serve in the Senate again.” - Harry Reid

Goodbye Norm Coleman

Norm Coleman is out and I couldn't agree more with DownwithTyranny :

“...one term was more than enough for this sleazy and ethically-challenged political hack”

But in a sad way, this may not be the last of Coleman's political career according to the WashingtonPost.com:

“Privately, some Republican insiders are contemplating a next move for Coleman if he comes up short in the recount. One well-connected GOP operative said that Coleman is being mentioned as a possible chairman of the Republican National Committee.”

Where to start…first, I love the phase “if he comes up short”…Coleman has come up short..and now it's over, the end, kaput…no 'if', 'and' or 'but'…Coleman is no longer a Senator (don't let the door slam when ya leave!).

Second, Norm lacks leadership…always has…so why make him the chair of the RNC…er…well, other than the obvious fit…lacks leadership, lacks diversity, lacks ethics, love fine whiskey, cigars and women…ah…now I get it, more of the same from the party of bankrupt morals.

Third, Norm will be busy this year defending himself against charges...of course, he'll have to pay the legal bills somehow.

Fourth, He's no longer a Senator (I know this a repeat of before but it makes me feels so good I wanted to say it twice!)

Fifth, Coleman did say (his words not mine!) "If I were trailing, I would step back." Well, now is the time to do just that and let the will of Minnesota's voters take over.

Sixth, 'Someone has to say it...might as well be me...goodbye'

Happy New Year

Democratic Senator Al Franken, MN
Yes, it’s promises to be a very good year in Minnesota…
