I grew up reading comic books wanting to be a superhero. Comics taught me that those who speak the truth are heroes, all the rest are liars.

Just Turn Bu$h Off

I was on the computer doing some work when Bu$h came on the radio....a few sentences in (about 4 minutes) I got up and turned him off...sigh...I wish it was that easy for all Americans. What a joker if he believes that the lies all together will add up to one truth.

Madam Speaker Pelosi...nails it when she says:
"The same poor judgment that got us to where we are now is what he wants us to respect as he goes forward."

Respect is given until it's misused, then it must be earned. I'm not sure there is anything that Bush could do to re-earn Ameicas trust...that's just how bad he's f&#(up. Some things can't be fixed. Instead to take them out to the trash.

Pawlenty Of Stink!

Governor Tim Pawlenty once again shows the folks in Minnesota that he can’t walk the talk. By appointing Tim Wilkins as the assistant human services commissioner, the Governor is in essence saying He doesn't care about the people in Minnesota. While both claim to want keep government costs down, Gov. Tim appoints his friend to a position he’s not entitle to hold, and Tim W. accepts a position with a department (at government expense) that in the past he’s advocated against.

Their actions would be like putting Senator Rick Santorum in a ‘think tank’ for ethics and public policy…sure it happens, just like sh*t happens…but that doesn’t erase the stink or make it right.

Just days into the new legislation and Pawlenty’s ‘let’s play fair’ rhetoric doesn’t match up with his 'nothing fair about it' actions. (sigh) It’s going to be a long session with the ‘over the hill’ principal and new kids…Hat tip to Chris Truscott at mnpACT.

The Ethically Challenged Congressman Kline

Minnesota's second districts Congressman John Kline says he supports ethics reform, but then voted against it?....Is he just not for reform right now? Did he misunderstood which button to push during the vote? Has he changed his stance on ethics? Did he lie to voters? Or does he just not care about ethics?

Kline’s words:
"[I] understands how the federal deficit, created by years of over spending, is a threat to the long-term health of our ecomomy”.

Kline’s actions: Rep. John Kline voted NO against ethic reform with earmark legislation.

Adopting the Rules of the House, Title 4 - During consideration of the resolution setting House rules for the 110th Congress, the chamber approved this section that is intended to reform the earmark process and to reduce deficit spending.

...send e-mail ask him why he voted against reform?!

Desperate WhiteHouse

Now in its fourth year, the war has claimed the lives of more than 3,000 members of the U.S. military as well countless hundred of thousands of Iraqis. But have no fear....Bush has a plan!

Without such fundamental change in Washington's approach, there is little hope that the troops surge, Iraqi promises and accompanying rhetoric will amount to anything other than "stay the course more".It's not worth the paper it was written down on...

As Congresswoman Jane Harman's blogs on HuffPo:
"The White House's Iraq strategy has failed, our brave military is stretched to the breaking point, and neither Congress nor the American people will support for much longer throwing good money after bad or sending good people after good people into a hopeless war zone. Rather than talk about additional troops, it's time to begin redeploying troops out of Iraq immediately and engaging other governments and allies in crafting a diplomatic and political solution to the nightmare. That this administration could still think an escalated military option is a credible path to stability and democracy in Iraq is alarming, and indicative of how far removed from reality this president and his inner circle are."
Bush's policy can lead to only one thing...it's so simple even a cartoon shows the way...The only cartoon ever nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize is the 1939 Hugh Harman MGM cartoon called 'Peace on Earth' showing a post-apocalyptic world populated by animals picking up the pieces after a war kills every human on earth. Pawlenty Of Advice

Is it just me or does Pawlenty always seem like an agreeable friendly Minnesota kinda of guy that strikes the right balance…that is until it comes time to really show leadership! Actions and results speak louder than pretty words with goofy smiles. Would I like to drink beer with Pawlenty…sure, but when it’s a barn burner needing some government leadership…well let’s just say Pawlenty is still stuck on the stool.

This is the same governor who oversaw the biggest cuts in education, then gave 30% of it back while have the band play in the background for his educational vision...Parlour tricks aside, the last few years under Pawlenty’s and the GOP leadership has decimated Minnesota’s rich history of providing for residents in the area of education, health care, and transportation. If Pawlenty really wants bipartisan cooperation and common sense compromises, he’ll do well to remember you don’t fool all of the people all of the time.

When All Else Fails, Say Something Stupid

I love how the Star Tribune's Ms. Kersten gives advice to the new MN AG Lori Swanson to
"..let Mike Hatch be his own man...you need to tell him in no uncertain terms. The whole tagteam thing is over-you are your own woman".
Oh really Katie? How is following your advice going to make Lori her 'own women'?...More likely it would make her Katie's stupid monkey dupe.
And while we're at it, how is Mike Hatch's public service to Minnesotans wrong? It would be nice to see more ex-public servants assisting and helping out. Hatch certainly could have his pick of private sector jobs given his experience and record. To say he's 'behind the curtain' of the AG's office is to minimize the work he's done in the past and Lori Swanson's reputation and professionalism.
The role of the 'Kersten Monkey' wouldn't apply to either Hatch or Swanson but do try it out on Pawlenty. Now there's a Bu$h Monkey in need of your advice!
